In the world of winter jackets, the Klim Latitude is one of the best. It’s a mid-weight jacket that provides excellent warmth and comfort. The only problem I have with it is that it isn’t waterproof. However, if you can live with this shortcoming then this is an excellent choice.
Klim Latitude
The Gore-Tex Latitude is a new textile jacket from Klim, and it’s one of the best options available for riders who want a versatile and well-ventilated jacket that can be used for everything from commuting to touring. It offers excellent versatility, as it serves well in all but the hottest weather. The Latitude also has some features that set it apart from other jackets on this list, including a removable liner and water-repellent zippers that allow you to make adjustments when riding in wet conditions.
Although these additional features are nice, they come at a cost: This jacket isn’t cheap! But if you’re willing to spend more than $300 on your next motorcycle jacket (or simply love having lots of pockets), then we highly recommend taking a closer look at the Gore-Tex Latitude by Klim before making your final decision about which textile jacket is right for you.
Klim Latitude Back Protector
There is a removable Klim Latitude Back Protector, which is CE approved. It’s lightweight, comfortable, and super easy to use.
This back protector has a full coverage design that will give your lower spine the protection it requires while riding in all types of weather conditions. The Klim Latitude Back Protector can be used both on and off the bike because of its integrated side straps that allow it to be worn as an external armor piece or tucked away into your pants when not in use.
Klim Latitude Jacket Features
The Klim Latitude jacket is designed to be both warm and breathable. The Gore-Tex Active Shell fabric, which is used on the front and back of the jacket, provides waterproof protection while still allowing air to flow through it. This type of material allows you to stay warm in cold environments without overheating. It’s also extremely durable—so much so that Klim claims this jacket can last up to 2 years before you need a new one—but it’s not as breathable as other materials would be in similar conditions.
The Latitude comes with two adjustable hoods: one fixed around your face with no adjustment options (essentially a balaclava), and another that can be cinched down tight around your neck for extra warmth when needed. Both hoods are made from soft fleece material instead of stiff nylon; this makes putting them on more comfortable than other jackets I’ve worn before.
The zippers on this jacket are all weatherproofed with storm flaps on either side; these keep out rain or snow from entering into any part of your clothing system when fully closed (or mostly closed). There’s also an internal chest pocket where you can store small items like phones or wallets if needed; there isn’t much room inside but enough for what most people need during normal activities outside in bad weather conditions
Klim Latitude Jacket Fit and Comfort
I found the Klim Latitude Jacket to be comfortable and not too bulky. It is a good fit for me, and I would say it runs true to size. The jacket has a good quality feel to it, and the materials are well made. I also liked that it was lightweight and easy to move in.
Klim Latitude Jacket Ventilation
The Latitude jacket has two vents on the front that can be opened or closed by a variety of means. When they’re open, they are covered by a mesh screen to keep out bugs and debris. The vents can also be closed via zipper, button, flap and snap (on the women’s version).
For ventilation under light rain or misty conditions you might want to leave the vents open while still having protection from bugs and debris. However if it starts raining hard then you should probably close them up so that water doesn’t get into your jacket through the openings in your chest area where these zippers are located.
If you have an overactive sweat gland problem like me then you’ll probably want to make sure these zippers are always shut because otherwise I’m sure there could be some serious sweating going on during really hot days when temperatures soar above 80 degrees Fahrenheit (26 Celsius).
Klim Latitude Jacket Conclusion
In summary, the Klim Latitude Jacket:
- If you’re looking for a waterproof jacket that can also be used as an outer layer, this is a great option. It’s lightweight and fairly breathable.
- A couple of its features are gimmicky (the hood and chest pockets), but it has otherwise performed well in our testing and held up well over time. It has great performance at an affordable price point. We think it’s worth considering if you need both protection from rain and warmth in cold weather or want something versatile enough to wear both on its own or under your shell if it gets warmer out there.
I was pretty impressed with the new Klim Gore-Tex Latitude jacket and I’m happy to recommend it.
If you’re looking for a high-quality all-around textile jacket that offers good comfort, protection and ventilation, then I think the Klim Latitude fits the bill. It’s not cheap, but it’s not too expensive either, especially when compared with other premium jackets like the Schott Perfecto 3/4 Leather Motorcycle Jacket or even the Schott Perfecto 2/3 Leather Motorcycle Jacket (which is actually cheaper). And while there are certainly cheaper options if you don’t need this level of quality, they won’t be as protective or as comfortable on long rides. The price may seem high at first glance; however, when compared with other similar jackets from more established brands, it seems pretty reasonable.
Overall I was pretty impressed with this jacket and am happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a good all-around textile jacket that offers good protection and provides adequate ventilation through its mesh fabric panels alongside plenty of pockets and other features that make it easy to wear every day wherever you go!
Conclusion
In conclusion, I think this is a great jacket. If you’re looking for something that blends the best of both worlds—high-quality Gore-Tex fabric and classic styling—then look no further than the Klim Latitude Jacket. It’s available in sizes up through XXL, has plenty of pockets and storage options as well as some nice little touches like reflective piping along the shoulder blades and back panels. The fabric itself feels durable enough to last several years with proper care so long as they don’t start making cuts out of cheaper materials like nylon or polyester!
