I’ve had the opportunity to wear the Rukka Kalix 2.0 Gore-Tex Textile Jacket in a wide range of temperatures, and on long and short rides. The jacket features a removable liner, which makes it easy to pack into your travel bag if you’re heading out of town for a ride. There are also three small pockets (one on each arm and one on the left peck) that are usable while wearing gloves; this is very useful for storing snacks or small items like wallet or keys without having them bounce around when riding fast over rough terrain.

I’m going to start by saying that this is an excellent jacket, which I am very happy with. The Rukka Kalix 2.0 has been my go-to riding jacket for the last couple of months. It’s comfortable, it looks great and it has kept me dry in all kinds of weather – even when riding in heavy rain for hours on end!
The Jacket
The Kalix 2.0 jacket is a textile jacket with Rukka’s Klima membrane, which is waterproof and breathable. While it might seem like you can get the same thing in a much cheaper jacket (like one from Target), the Kalix 2.0 has an improved Gore-Tex membrane that allows you to safely ride your motorcycle in even the worst conditions without feeling wet or cold. The removable thermal liner also helps seal out wind and keep you warm on those chilly mornings.
In terms of fit, this jacket runs large so make sure to size down if you’re looking for something more form fitting or athletic (I’m 5’10” and 160 lbs, typically wear small shirts). The sleeves are roomy enough that they don’t bunch up when putting on thick gloves but not so big that they look bulky underneath another layer—something important since this isn’t meant to be worn as outerwear by itself but under other jackets like an insulated parka or heated vest during long rides through winter weather climates
It’s important to note that this is not a three or four season jacket; it’s not made for below freezing temperatures.
This is a summer jacket. It’s not a three or four season jacket, and it’s not made for below freezing temperatures. If you’re expecting to wear this while riding in the dead of winter, you’ll be disappointed. This is the kind of jacket I’d recommend for those who live somewhere that doesn’t get too cold in the winter—Northern California, Texas, or even Florida (which are warm enough that they have their own leather brand).
For summer riding, at whatever pace you’re going, the venting works really well to keep you comfortable.
Rukka’s Kalix 2.0 jacket comes in two versions, a traditional leather version and a Gore-Tex version. They’re similar in styling, but the latter is made of Gore-Tex and has a few extra features that make it more suitable for wet weather riding or commuting.
The Rukka Kalix 2.0 is an excellent all-round summer jacket for riders who want some protection from the elements without going overboard on bulk or weight. While not fully waterproof, it does offer pretty impressive water resistance and breathability for its class — especially if you pair it with Rukka’s optional rain liner (which we don’t recommend since it adds too much bulk).
In terms of comfort and performance when riding at moderate speeds (30mph+), I have no complaints with this jacket other than that the closed collar design is barely functional when worn open because there’s no way to adjust the fit around your neck area while moving around on your bike – although this might be less of an issue if you’re wearing something underneath like a polo shirt or turtleneck sweater!
If you’re interested, this jacket only comes in black, but it has reflective hits on both arms and across the shoulders in the back.
The Rukka logo is red and reflective on both shoulders as well.
The jacket has a removable thermal liner that can be zippered into place over the mesh outer shell or worn separately with its own hoodie. It’s comfortable to wear alone on mild days when you don’t need full protection from the elements or an insulated layer for warmth.
The Armour
The Rukka Kalix 2.0 Jacket’s armour is removable and can be washed when needed. It’s a combination of D3O Air and CE-certified materials, which provide an excellent fit and are flexible enough to move with you on the bike.
The sleeves have Rukka D3O Air limb protectors at the shoulders and elbows stitched into a pocket, which allows for good flexibility in movement.
D3O Air limb protectors are impact absorbing and flexible, so you don’t want to feel like your jacket has been turned into a straight jacket when moving around. The Rukka Kalix 2.0 Jacket does not suffer from this problem as it is extremely comfortable to wear.
There is a pocket for an optional back protector insert.
The Rukka Kalix 2.0 is a motorcycle jacket that has an optional back protector insert. The back protector is removable, so you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to. If you’d like one, though, they can be purchased separately and installed in the jacket.
The Features
The Rukka Kalix 2.0 is a relatively simple jacket, with only three small pockets: one on the left chest and two hand pockets. If you wear gloves, all of these are usable for stashing your stuff—always a plus in my book! They’re also deep enough that none of my items fell out when I was moving around.
The jacket’s waistband and cuffs have elastic to help keep it snug against your body, which is important if you’re going to be riding on an actual motorcycle; any extra fabric can get caught in your gears or pedals and cause damage (or worse).
Unfortunately, they don’t seem quite as tight as they could be: while wearing it over a long-sleeve thermal shirt I found the waistband slipping down my hips, which was uncomfortable because it meant the jacket wasn’t staying put when I leaned forward or bent over. It’s possible this wouldn’t happen if you were wearing just a T-shirt underneath—but then again maybe not; I’m sure there are plenty of people who would find this jacket too warm even without additional layers beneath it!
This jacket has a number of other features that make it stand out from others I’ve tried.
This jacket has a number of other features that make it stand out from others I’ve tried. It comes in black, and the detailing on the pockets makes them look more like military-style than what you normally see on streetwear jackets.
The Rukka Kalix 2.0 Gore-Tex Textile Jacket comes in black and is available at Motorcycle Superstore for $399. If you’re looking for something more stylish than your typical leather jacket but still want to keep your riding gear safe from the elements, this could be the jacket for you!
Other considerations include three small pockets – one on each arm, and one on the left peck – and all are usable while wearing gloves.
The Rukka Kalix 2.0 jacket has three small pockets: one on each arm and one on the left peck. All are usable while wearing gloves, which is nice if you’re going to be riding in cold weather.
The inside of the jacket includes a zippered media port that allows you to route headphones through so they don’t get tangled up with other gear or rub against your body when worn under a helmet.
This is a very comfortable jacket with excellent protection that offers maximum ventilation in hot weather.
Rukka has made a very good jacket with the Kalix 2.0 that offers maximum ventilation in hot weather. I’ve worn it on sunny days where I was sweating like an animal, but the jacket still kept me dry and comfortable. The level of protection is also excellent, as you’d expect from Rukka’s armour line. This is a stylish jacket that should keep you protected when riding your motorcycle or scooter every day through all four seasons of the year.
Conclusion
Overall, I’ve been very impressed with this jacket and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good summer textile jacket. The Rukka Kalix 2.0 Gore-Tex Textile Jacket is available in sizes S-XXL through Rukka dealers worldwide or online at rukkamotorcyclegear.com
