Klim TK1200 is a carbon fibre helmet designed for dirt biking and adventure touring, with a large eyeport to give you excellent visibility. The shell is made from carbon fibre, which provides great protection and low weight. The Klim TK1200 also has an anti-fog system that helps prevent fogging while you’re riding. It comes in two sizes: small/medium (58-60 cm) or medium/large (60-62 cm).
Features
This helmet is equipped with a carbon fibre shell. It also has an anti-fog system, visor vents, multi-position ventilation and removable/replaceable breath guard, chin curtain and cheek pads. The visor can be easily removed when you want to clean or replace it with a clear one. This motorbike helmet comes in several different colours: white, red, blue, yellow and black.
It’s ECE 22.05 and DOT safety certified so you know that it offers the best protection on the market!
This helmet is available in two different versions: with or without visor. If you prefer to ride without a visor, then this is the perfect helmet for you! It will keep your head protected from any potential impacts and provide excellent ventilation.
Carbon fibre shell
The carbon fibre shell is made of a strong, lightweight material that’s used in Formula 1 cars and in the aerospace industry. This combination of strength, weight and lightness makes it ideal for helmets.
The Klim TK1200 Carbon helmet’s shell will be comfortable because it doesn’t absorb heat like foam does—in fact, it actually dissipates heat away from your head so you can wear this helmet comfortably during hot weather rides.
Also, because carbon fibre doesn’t break easily like regular plastic or metal helmets do, the Klim TK1200 Carbon will last longer than other helmets that are made with conventional materials such as styrofoam (the stuff earbuds come packed in). The carbon fibre shell also means you won’t have to worry about fogging up your visor when you ride at night!
Anti-fog system
Klim’s anti-fog system prevents moisture from building up on your visor, which keeps you comfortable and safe. The multi-position ventilation allows you to adjust the amount of airflow that hits your face, so you can stay cool even when it’s hot outside. You’ll also love how easy it is to remove and clean this helmet: all removable parts are machine washable!
This helmet is the perfect choice for any rider, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced motorcyclist. If you want to make sure that you’ll have the best helmet for your needs, check out our helmet buying guide for more information.
Visor vents
- Provide ventilation.
- Keep helmet cool.
- Keep visor clear. Visor fogging is an annoying problem that can make it difficult to see and also increases the risk of a crash.
- Reduce face shield fogging by allowing heat to escape through the top vents and through your breath flow out onto the visor via defogging ports in each corner of the shield’s inner surface. Larger front vents provide additional airflow with less turbulence than smaller, more numerous openings would produce, while internal channels route warm air away from your neck and face to reduce sweat build-up on the inside of your helmet liner. This reduces moisture between you and your Klim TK1200 Carbon Helmet Liner for maximum comfort on those long rides!
Multi-position ventilation
In addition to the visor and chin guard, the helmet includes three different vents that can be opened or closed to regulate air flow. These include a chin vent, forehead vent and top vent. The top vent is the most important of these, as it allows air to be drawn in through the front of the helmet. This is where you’ll find your sweat band as well as some padding for comfort when you’re wearing glasses.
Removable/replaceable breath guard, chin curtain and cheek pads
It’s important to wear a helmet with removable and replaceable breath guard, chin curtain and cheek pads. The breath guard is a piece of fabric that protects you from the wind, keeping your mouth free to breathe. The chin curtain is also important as it stops wind from blowing up into your helmet. Lastly, the cheek pads hold the helmet in place while you ride; they come in different sizes so you can make sure that the helmet fits perfectly on your head.
Fully removable, replaceable and washable liner and cheek pads
The Klim TK1200 Carbon’s fully removable and replaceable liner and cheek pads also have a unique design feature. The liner is in two parts, with the top section that covers your head being detachable from the lower section that goes over your neck and shoulders. This allows you to remove one side of the helmet if you need to wash just part of it, or if you want to change out just one side of your chin protection for a different style or color (or if it gets damaged).
And yes: like all Klim products (and unlike some other brands), they make replacement parts available for purchase so you can easily order new liners and cheek pads when necessary!
Tool-free visor removal
You can easily remove the visor by hand. This is a great feature, since it allows you to change the shield on your own without having to go searching in a toolbox for a screwdriver or other device. You’ll also be able to clean the outside face of your helmet more easily than many others, which is especially nice if you’re riding in dusty conditions.
ECE 22.05 and DOT safety certified
The Klim TK1200 Carbon helmet has been tested to the ECE 22.05 and DOT safety standards, which are designed to protect your head in a crash. The helmet is tested by independent laboratories that use rigorous standards to ensure the safety of helmets for motorcyclists.
You need to protect your head!
- Bike riding is dangerous, and you need to protect your head.
- It’s important to pick a helmet that fits your head.
- You should adjust the helmet so it fits correctly on your head.
- Wear the helmet correctly by making sure it sits just above the brow line of your eye sockets, not over them (unless you have a very large forehead).
Conclusion
The Klim TK1200 Carbon is an awesome helmet, and Klim has certainly raised the bar with its technology. The only issue we have is that it doesn’t come in a hi-viz colour option, but other than that—this helmet is as good as it gets!
